Fundul Galbenei is a commune in Hînceşti district, Moldova. It is composed of a single village, Fundul Galbenei, located about southwest of Chișinău. At the time of the 2004 census, it had a population of 2,507 people. The village was first mentioned in documents in 1632. A wooden church was built in the village in 1793 and rebuilt in 1819. The commune is mainly engaged in agriculture; Vietnamese pig breeding, and honey and wine making are of note. ==History== The village was first mentioned in documents in 1632 but archaeological evidence indicates it was occupied as early as 6,000 years ago. The remains of a settlement were unearthed dating back to the early Iron Age, about 2,700 years ago.〔 A wooden church was built in Fundul Galbanei in 1793, rebuilt in 1819. 28 families were displaced between 1836 and 1850, so that by the 1859 census, the village had 390 men and 336 women living in 197 houses.〔
